Administrator and paraplanners FAQs

To support you in managing your agency account as effectively as possible, we have answered your most frequently asked administrator and paraplanners questions for our Life Protection Platform.

You will need to log into your administrator profile and select the ‘My Statements’ option from the menu.

Statements pre-load the last three months with options to extend the period if required.

Any new administrators or paraplanners will first need to create a new username and password.

After setting their security questions, they must not log in but instead will need to provide their username to their administrator.

The existing administrator will need to log into their profile and select the ‘Administration’ option from the menu where they will then be able to add the new user against the appropriate role.

The existing administrator will need to log into their profile and select the ‘Administration’ option from the menu where they should then select the ‘Maintain Paraplanner Rights’ option.

A list of paraplanners will be displayed and on selection the access rights can be amended for each adviser.

In the first instance, you will need to consult with your firm administrator to ensure that your profile has access rights for the relevant advisers.

As an administrator, when logging in you will default to the ‘My Policies’ section where you can search for any policy reference under your firms registration.

As a paraplanner, when logging in you will default to the ‘My Applications’ section. You will then need to select the ‘My Policies’ section from the menu to see all active business submitted by advisers managed under your profile.

You will need to log into your paraplanner profile and select the ‘Start Quote’ option from the menu to begin the application process.

The next page will show the products available. Once you have selected the desired product(s), the following page will display available advisers and panels for the application to be produced against.

During the initial application submission, on the product details page there is an ‘Adviser Information’ drop down at the bottom of the screen where commission preferences can be selected.

Once an application has been submitted and reviewed by our underwriters, upon receipt of our Underwriters’ response you can select the ‘Amend Cover’ option to return to the product details page where the ‘Adviser Information’ drop down is present.

Paraplanners can continue to access a former adviser's pipeline for the purpose of completing and issuing a policy. We are unable to transfer current pipeline applications between adviser accounts, due to this a transfer may only be applied after the policy has been issued.

Once the policy is issued, you can request to transfer the issued policy to an active servicing adviser by sending an email:

  • ‘User account is currently not active’ - This error would normally be due to the user account showing a closed status, caused by account inactivity or closure
  • ‘The firm is currently not active’ - If your firm has recently registered to place business with us, please note that it typically takes two working days for Zurich Assurance Ltd (ZAL) to review and activate the firm’s agency

In most instances, online access can be restored by performing a ‘Forgotten Password’ reset from the main login page.

Alternative reasons for an inactivate account could include:

  • ‘Account Inactivity’ - Online access is automatically closed following 13 months of inactivity
  • ‘Account closed by firm or principal request’ - If Zurich Assurance Ltd is notified by a firm or principal that a specific user account needs closing, we will action that request in the first instance. If your online access has been removed for one of the alternative reasons referenced above, we will need your firm or principal to contact us by email to instruct us to reactivate your account:

‘Expired Unipass Certificate’ - Please see the ‘My Unipass certificate for online access has expired’

Advisers, administrators and paraplanners can amend their address details, email contact and phone number by logging into their online account and proceeding to the ‘My Account’ menu option.
